On 27 January 2011, in Port of Spain, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago concluded the first round of negotiations for a Partial Scope Agreement. The second round took place in Panama, from 28 March to 1 April 2011. The third round of negotiations was held in Port of Spain, from 31 May to 3 June 2011.
On 3 October 2013, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago signed a Partial Scope Trade Agreement, in Panama City, Panama.
