  Background and Negotiations
   

On 15 January 2008 the Chilean Senate's commissions on Chile and Colombia concluded free trade negotiations on October 30, 2006 after two rounds of negotiation: the first one in Santiago de Chile, on October 9-14; and the second one in Baranquilla, Colombia on October 23-27, 2006. The free trade agreement was signed on November 27, 2006 in Santiago de Chile.
