On 15 September 2009, the Government of Canada tabled the first three Agreements in the House of Commons and the FIPA Agreement in the Parliament for their debate and review. On 17 November 2009, The Government of Canada introduced legislation to implement the Canada-Jordan FTA and related agreements on labour
cooperation and environment.
In March 2010, Canada introduced legislation to implement the Canada-Jordan free trade
agreement. Upon implementation, the FTA is expected
to
eliminate tariffs on over 99 per cent of Canadian
exports by value. On 15 November 2011, Canada introduced the Canada-Jordan Economic Growth and Prosperity Act implementing the Canada-Jordan FTA and the parallel agreements on the environment and labour cooperation, will come into force on a date agreed by Canada and Jordan. On 21 September 2012,
the government of Canada announced that the Free
Trade Agreement with Jordan will come into force
on 1 October 2012.
