The Free Trade Agreement between Bolivia and Mexico was signed on 10 September 1994 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The agreement establishes a free trade area within fifteen years of entry into force, and supersedes and replaces ALADI partial scope agreement AAP 31 of 30 April 1983.

The Bolivia-Mexico Free Trade Agreement, which was deposited with the Latin American Integration Association, ALADI, as Economic Complementation Agreement (ACE) 3, entered into force on 1 January 1995. The legal documents allowing the agreement to enter into force in each of the countries are:

BOLIVIA: Supreme Decree N° 23.933 and note SG/N° 19/99 (CR/di 427 and CR/di 894)
MEXICO: Decree of 27 December 1994 (SEC/di 621).

Article 18-01 of the Agreement establishes an Administrative Commission made up of Ministers of each Party, that are to meet annually to supervise the implementation and operation of the Agreement.
