Text of the Agreement
  Background and Negotiations
   

Chile and Turkey agreed to study the possibility of negotiating a free trade agreement. The two governments set up a joint feasibility study work group towards this end. Free trade negotiations began after the Joint Study Group issued its final report. The second round of negotiations took place in Ankara, Turkey on 11 July 2008. Chile and Turkey held the third round of negotiations on 8 October 2008. The fourth round of negotiations initiated in Ankara, Turkey on 18 March 2009. Two days later, Chile and Turkey concluded negotiations of a free trade agreement. On 14 July 2009, Chile and Turkey signed a free trade agreement (FTA).

  Entry into Force
   

The Free Trade Agreement Chile-Turkey came into force on 01 March 2011.

  Negotiations on Trade in Services
   

On the occasion of the Second Joint Commision of the Chile-Turkey FTA, held on 25-26 March 2013, Chile and Turkey agreed to expand the scope of the free trade agreement to cover trade in services. In addition, Chile and Turkey discussed other issues of bilateral interest.

    Implementation of the Agreement
   

Article 54 of the Chile-China Free Trade Agreement establishes a Joint Committee comprised of senior officials of the Parties.
