In October 2010 Canada and Honduras agreed to launch bilateral negotiations toward a free trade agreement. The first round of negotiations took place in Ottawa, Canada, in December 2010. The second round of negotiations was held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on 14 February 2011. Both countries announced the conclusion of their free trade negotiations on 12 August 2011.
