Economic Development and META will train Hondurans in digital skills

Result of a strategic Alliance between the Government of Honduras through the Secretariat of Economic Development (SDE) and the company META (formerly known as Facebook) within the Call to Action framework of the Vice President of the United States and the support of Partnership for Central America, training will begin through virtual courses that Facebook will offer for Honduran entrepreneurs.

MSMEs Get Support Through NQA Mentorship Programme

The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) continues to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in achieving business success, through the National Quality Awards (NQA) mentorship programme. The mentorship programme, initiated by the BSJ, was created under the NQA programme and aims to support MSMEs that participated in the NQA programme to standardise their operations.

Cooperation agreement between USMA and Ampyme

A cooperation agreement between the Santa María La Antigua University (USMA) and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (Ampyme) was signed at the headquarters of the governing institution of this sector of the economy. The agreement will allow joint work in favor of the students of this university center and entrepreneurs from all over the country.

MIC Business Capacities Improvement Project, provides technical assistance to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Ñeembucú

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), through the Business Capacities Improvement Project (PMCE) , executed by the Vice Ministry of MSMEs and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), presented beneficiaries from the department of Ñeembucú and the consultant assigned to the MSMEs benefited from Technical Assistance with Emphasis on Strategic Financial Management for Credit Repayment and Company Strengthening.

SMEs participated for the first time in Cyber Wow and achieved sales of more than S/ 100 thousand

A total of 85 Peruvian SMEs from the textile and clothing sector successfully completed sales of more than S/ 100,000 soles, during the three editions of Cyber Wow 2022, which has contributed to the economic reactivation of the sector, according to the Ministry of Production – PRODUCE.

Uruguay

Government presented Uruguay Innovation Hub, a program that seeks to position the country as a pole of innovation

It is a new program that seeks for Uruguay to take a leap as a pole of regional and global innovation. The inter-institutional and public-private initiative, which was presented within the framework of the Test & Invest event organized by the IDB and the Government, will consist of three components: a program to attract and accelerate national and international startups; the attraction of investment funds after the seed capital, leveraged with public funds and through competitive calls; and the installation of open laboratories.


Meta will train youth in augmented reality with the support of the Government of Uruguay and the IDB

The social technology company Meta (ex Facebook), with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Technological University (UTEC) and The Electric Factory launched a call for people over 18 years of age from all over the country are trained in augmented reality technologies. Young people from all over Uruguay will be able to register and train at no cost in the training program. Those who are part of the program will learn to create augmented reality filters on Facebook and Instagram to boost their businesses or apply them to job opportunities.
